New version of iCallerID available in the iTunes App Store

Version 1.0.1 of iCallerID is now available for download from the iTunes App Store.

What’s new in version 1.0.1:

  • Added Retina display icons;
  • Updated help URL;
  • Added crash reporting feature.

iCallerID is a real-time VoIP SIP caller ID display for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

No more running to your desk phone to see who is calling or wondering if you missed an important call. Check the caller ID information right from your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

You can even add custom information to the caller ID information displayed on the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.

iCallerID stores your inbound VoIP SIP calls; take your call history with you.

NOTE: iCallerID REQUIRES an IP phone system or a VoIP calling service that supports call forking to a SIP URI. This includes the Asterisk PBX, FreesSWITCH, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco UC500, Cisco SPA3102, and many others (see our FAQ for more information).

How does iCallerID work?

iCallerID works with your IP based phone system or VoIP calling service to show you who is calling while your desk phone is ringing.

When you install iCallerID on your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch you are issued a SIP URI (it’s like an e-mail address, but for telephone calls over the Internet). You then configure your IP phone system to fork calls to your iCallerID SIP URI.

Then when a call comes in, the caller ID information is sent to your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
